The former estate of Aichberg owes its origins to the family Leys, who were later the titled family Aichner.
Circa 1570, Nikolaus Leys married the eldest daughter of David Lanser, who was then owner of the farm. His son then
reformed the rustic estate in the style of "Überetsch" (a local architectural style).
Nikolaus was titled on 20th August 1613, becoming "von Paschbach". It was not until a few years later that the estate
was given the name Aichberg.
On 26th May 1632, Valentin Christoph Aichner was successfully able to secure the right for permission of the Freedom of
Nobility of Aichberg. This entitled him to call himself "Aichner von Paschbach zu Aichberg". In the following
century the estate changed hands several times and is today the property of the Counts of Khuen von Belasi. |
